NHSX recently released a report into the state of AI in healthcare, where they see practical applications for this tech, and what they’re doing to build ethics, transparency and NHS values into the way they use this tech.
Our group lead, Richard Dobson, tweeted about this.
Great to see this new report out and really pleased to see @cogstack recognised for text analytics in the NHS – representing pull through of academic development and NHS partnership within AHSCs and funding support from @NIHR BRCs @HDR_UK https://t.co/zs74Hvy1ot

The team at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and the South London and Maudsley Hospital tested CogStack for clinical coding in a fracture outpatient clinic setting to identify under-coding and was able to triple the depth of coding within a month (from ~10% of cases to 30% of cases having procedures recorded accurately). This translates to £1,260,000 of financial activity per annum even without the efficiency gains. Page 58
