Agent Platform for automating patient PROvided Clinical outcome feedback: (APPROaCh)

A distributed multi-agent environment for connecting patients with their carers outside the hospital environment and enabling data collection for research. APPROaCh automates the process of collecting standardised patient-provided outcome measures (PROMs) via a reward-based environment aiming to:

  • improve outcomes, by enabling remote follow-up on patients through an engaging portal,
  • create a more efficient environment, whereby face-to-face time between patients and clinicians does not include report filling and documentation,
  • improve data collection for audit and research purposes.

A pilot version of APPROaCh is being deployed at the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust targeting patients with Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Future implementations will include a context-aware clinician alert system, enabling the highlight of regressing and irresponsive and patients for follow-up, as well as automating the recruitment of patients in clinical trials matching their diagnoses.
